About POC

Pine Orchard Camp (POC) provides the perfect place for relaxation, recreation, and spiritual growth for people of all ages.  It is a Christian camp that has been around for over 70 years presenting the message of Jesus Christ from the Word of God.  The camp offers a variety of camping experiences for all ages (scroll down on the main page to see our various camps).  Each camp provides an excellent experience balancing spiritual teaching with fun and recreational activities.

The facilities are also available for Christian rental groups. Pine Orchard Camp is affiliated with the Free Methodist Church of Canada.  The camp is located just 30 minutes north of Toronto, Ontario.  It is situated on 10 acres of land with mature trees and offers numerous facilities as listed below.  Also known as "a peaceful place in the pines", Pine Orchard Camp is the perfect getaway from the rush of everyday life.  Come and enjoy God's creation.

We are open for Christian church and group bookings from June 1st to September 30th.  We are NOT a seasonal trailer park.  Trailers are, however, welcomed during Family Camp.

History

The present camp was sponsored by the Toronto District of the Free Methodist Church.  It was called Pine Orchard Camp.  Pine Orchard Camp was purchased from Ross Thompson in 1947 for five thousand dollars.  Timber was cut from the property and a sawmill was brought onto the grounds to cut the logs into lumber.  The sale of the lumber paid for the property. What We Believe

In agreement with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, the statement of faith for Pine Orchard Camp affirms the following:

  • The Holy Scriptures, as originally given by God, are divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and constitute the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • Our Lord Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh; we affirm his virgin birth, sinless humanity, divine miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, ongoing mediatorial work, and personal return in power and glory.
  • The salvation of lost and sinful humanity is possible only through the merits of the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, received by faith apart from works, and is characterized by regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
  • The Holy Spirit enables believers to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • The Church, the body of Christ, consists of all true believers.
  • Ultimately God will judge the living and the dead, those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
